The Journey to Starr Handyman Services
My journey in this business began not in an office, but with a toolbox in hand, learning the ropes as a kid doing side jobs and assisting other contractors. This hands-on experience laid the groundwork for what would become Starr Handyman Services. Before establishing this business in May 2024, I gained diverse experience across various trades. I previously owned a remodeling business in Knoxville, TN, tackling everything from carpentry and painting to plumbing, electrical, and drywall. Following that, I specialized in barn construction for Premiere in South Fulton, further honing my skills. My professional path also led me to Hiller Heating and Plumbing in Jackson, TN, as an electrician, and later to Prosper Services, where I helped lead crews in house-flipping projects.
These diverse experiences, coupled with a deep understanding of home construction and repair, have equipped me with the skills necessary to handle a wide range of projects, from minor fixes to major renovations. My goal with Starr Handyman Services is simple: to help people enhance their living spaces, address small issues, and ultimately, transform houses into dream homes. I also have a passion for revitalizing old, run-down properties, breathing new life into them for future homeowners.

I also aim to have a dedicated crew for service work and general handyman labor. My long-term goals include providing affordable housing and creating employment opportunities, especially through a reform program for felons seeking a fresh start. Ultimately, I hope to open a trade school for individuals facing hard times, offering them a place to learn valuable, in-demand trades so they can build a decent living for themselves and their families.
